Decorating with Fabric Donates Interior Solar Shades to the Women’s Homeless Shelter

August 8, 2013

New York, NY – Decorating with Fabric is pleased to announce its donation of 18 interior incline solar shades to the women’s homeless shelter at the Park Avenue Armory.  Decorating with Fabric was approached by the Armory who had a need for interior shading solutions in their homeless shelter run by the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.

This incline shading solution by delivered by Decorating with Fabric provided the necessary function in a unique space. With the windows on an incline, it was necessary to use side tracks to keep the shades working on the mansard “angled” window.

The incline shade that was used for this application is called Makroll by Sunproject. Decorating with Fabric was able to match the headbox and side tracks with the existing bronze mullions. Combined with the Eco Screen Privacy Weave Fabric, the Makroll incline shades provided the desired privacy needed for the sleeping quarters of the homeless shelter.

About The Park Avenue Armory – Our Women’s Mental Health Shelter at the Park Avenue Armory provides a temporary home to mentally ill women over the age of 45 who are all in need of permanent housing. We have two overarching goals at the Shelter: (a) to rapidly rehouse mentally ill homeless women into permanent housing; and (b) to provide a short-term, safe and supportive environment to address immediate needs for mentally ill homeless women.

About Decorating with Fabric – Decorating with Fabric, Inc. is a “To the Trade” workroom. Decorating with Fabric is committed to working with Architects, Designers and Contractors to achieve these goals.
