I was recently in the Metropolitan Museum of Art measuring for some shades in their new facility. This area houses one of the largest collections of art reference books, which is available to be checked out as it is a public library.
I was early for my appointment , so I did some browsing in their amazing book store. I came across on the sale table a book called: An Illustrated History of Interior Decoration, From Pompeii to Art Nouveau. I browsed through the book and found a great collection of photos of Drapery Treatments. Great fortune! Of course I purchased the book.
If draperies were used to today as they were in the 1800’s I would be in heaven! I show a few photos below and I will show more in future posts. Enjoy…
