Below is a photo of a beautiful swag over pole treatment I designed. The fabric is a very soft sheer draped over a 2″ wood pole. The swags and jabots give the appearance as being one long piece of fabric, where they are actually seperate pieces. 
The Cornice shown below is embelished with a series of trims that enhance the shape and the pattern in the fabric.
