An in depth look at specifying and designing Sustainable Draperies. This course covers five areas that make up Sustainable Draperies which are: Function, Energy Efficiency, Recyclable Materials, Sustainable Fabrics and Drapery Design.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand that function plays a pivotal role in Sustainable Drapery Design. Function comes first before any design decisions are made.
  • Energy efficiency of draperies is often misunderstood. The attendee will learn how various drapery treatments can provide effective insulation on windows.
  • How to understand the contribution of recyclable materials and sustainable fabrics in the design of Sustainable Draperies.
  • Finally comes the design. After all the steps are taken with the decisions of function, energy efficiencies and fabrics, the drapery is ready is ready for design.

There is a PowerPoint used for this presentation. Hand held samples of actual window covering products and fabrics are shown and explained.
