A course designed for the Architect and Designer which covers the full array of Sustainable and Energy Efficient Window Coverings. In this session all types of window coverings will be covered including roman shades, vertical blinds, roller shades and draperies.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand the various ways that window coverings can improve the energy efficiencies of residential and commercial buildings.
  • How to specify window coverings that improve solar reflectance, solar glare and how to increase R values.
  • How to understand draperies and fabric treatments as better  insulators for energy efficiencies.
  • To learn about Green and Sustainable fabrics, supplies and methods in the fabrication of drapery treatments.

There is a PowerPoint used for this presentation. Hand held samples of actual window covering products are shown and explained.
